Interesting so far and disconcertently erudite - even in the first few pages you encounter gemütlichkeit, hygge, Ibn Khaldun's Muqaddima of 1377, Chaucer, Chomsky and JBPriestley (not all of whom were exactly from Northumbria of course ...)
