Part 5 done, and with that, I've completed the 2nd book of War and Peace.
I would've never imagined that this book would involve love triangles and family dramas, but I'm loving it. I don't know what to think of Natasha -- her actions are annoying, but then again, she is just a teenager who doesn't know any better.
Also, Pierre js growing on me. He's just a kind, naive soul who wouldn't hurt a fly.

Book 2 part 4 focused mainly on Nikolai and, in ny opinion, his imature nature and selfishness. The Rostov family is slowly collapsing and he's making the worst decisions ever.

Book 2 part 2 mostly follows Pierre's strange, spiritual journey and his friendship with Andrei (which is unexpected because these two are polar opposites). Pierre is fooled again, this time by his managers, when he tries to help peasants.
No drastic events, moving to part 3.

Book 2, part 1 done.

Pierre is such a fool, I expect him to lose everything he has.
I love the way Tolstoy portrayed Dolokhov, making us sympathize with someone we thought was a bad character.
I feel like Nikolai is way too spoiled and needs life to hit him hard.

Part 3 focused on the military campaign against Napoleon's army and the lives of Russian aristocratic families. I love how Tolstoy connects the two.
Poor Pierre remains a naive fool, and Andrei remains iconic as always.

This marks my completion of book 1. I'll definitely be taking a pause to catch up on my other books, but I can't wait to start reading book 2.

Part two kicked my butt, but I did enjoy it the moment the battle ocurred and the way it ended.

Also, Andrei Bolkonsky is slay as hell.

Just finished part one and all I can say is that I'm loving it. There are a lot of characters, that's for sure, but the most important ones easily stand out. And I'm living for all the drama within the Russian high society!
Moving to part two...
