idk i’m annoyed with this book because all of this was avoidable like why did you agree to go on a journey with a stranger? someone who also is not native to this land? dawg bffr

did i miss the fact that they could go to the mayan’s and just… ask for help? i feel like the mayans haven’t been hostile at all, they just tried to warn them not to go where they were going
like classic white people? they didn’t listen to the indigenous peoples of the land
