this book is so good and i would give it flowers for not adding random traumatic scenes for shock—however i am so confused why her cousin kissed her and it was not expanded upon at all. why was that thrown in there 😭 so strange!

while not necessarily critiquing it, i think the book does a decent job portraying how even if you’re oppressed as a white person (in this case, poor) you can still be racist!
