Now that I'm well on my way to finishing two Robin Hobb series, my feelings on her writings are:

Politics: 10/10
Romance: 2/10
Interpersonal relationships: 4/10
Dragon personalities: 15/10

Basically, if all the books were town hall meetings strung together with dragons eating people, they'd all be 5 stars
