CH2- POST- enjoyed this chapter more than I thought. I even got a little emotional. I liked how she discussed how the education system is not but for people who "think differently." Basically she touches on how our system refuses to support the children who are different. She brings up how she was homeschooled and that helped her. She does a good job of intertwining her story with how the education system failures.

Ch 4: the author focuses on the importance -- and difficulty -- of friendship for neurodivergent folks, especially when they/you may feel like the "extra" cast person rather than the main character. The author brings up the point of Disney characters at the beginning of the chapter multiple times.

CH 4: POST-READING THOUGHTS

This has to be by far my most favorite chapter so far. A few things stood out to me which I will mention (in other little snippets).

CH 3: PRE-READING THOUGHTS: This will be a good chapter. I always had imaginary friends growing up. I also always felt like an outsider and have felt careful about making friends and have been selective, too. I am curious of the author's experience as well as what her insights are.

CH 3: POST-READING THOUGHTS: I did not relate to that chapter too much. I guess I have some stemming behavior but that is about it. Still interesting to listen to and I can take some lessons from it.

Curious of what the authors experiences, especially in another country, are like in school as a “neurodivergent.” not a huge fan of this book per se but interested. Lets see. I did not mind school but I moved around a lot too so who knows…

This passage is about embracing individuality and diversity rather than conforming to society’s narrow “box” of what’s normal.

Feeling okay about to read. Just kind of want to get a reading session in before I get moving to go back to Queenstown from Te Anau. Here I go. Not really present.
