Two chapters away from the end of part one and this is like watching a car speeding into oncoming traffic and knowing an accident is going to happen. You can't do anything to stop it, you can only watch.

Finished part 2. Having a whole section of this book in just Robbie's point of view was interesting for sure, a change of pace; but it was also very dismal and I have a bad feeling he will not be making it off the beach.

Finished part one. It's done, it happened. There is nothing that can be done to fix Briony's lie, we just have to see what the next half has in store.

Chapter eight be my favorite chapter so far. Oh, Robbie, you hopeless man. You fool. I don't know exactly how this will turn out, but I know it won't be good and reading how Robbie feels about Cecilia and the excitement about the rest of his life I just know I am headed into devastating territory.

The end of this chapter says "She would simply wait on the bridge, calm and obstinate, until events, reals events, not her own fantasies, rose to her challenge, and dispelled her insignificance."..... oh no. Briony, no.
