I'm not understanding why this book opens up with so much hostility toward Charlotte from Vanessa. Why would you not want to invite the other grandparents to the baby shower? I can understand if you are not fond of a person or outright don't like them, but at the end of the day, that's still the baby's family. I'm just 14% in but at this point, I'm team Charlotte. Vanessa started out unnecessarily mean and rude.
