For those who have read Villette: How much am I missing by not knowing French? I’m listening to the audiobook, making inferences about the French dialogue from context and the few basic words I know. Should I pause and find an edition that either lets me highlight and translate as I read or at least has English footnotes? The more French Lucy Snowe learns, the more French dialogue is present.
