Mixed on this. Obviously it's a kid's book, so the writing is far too basic for me, but apart from that, in a world where IPs like Fables and Once Upon a Time exist, Sisters Grimm feels trite in comparison. I could see kids enjoying it, but there's little to recommend as an adult. Also, the lore of the series is a bit weird considering the origins of Everafters. "Fairy tales are true." Okay, fine. ...but if that's the case, then why is Dorothy (from Wizard of Oz) also here? Wizard of Oz was published in 1900, that's very recent compared to other fairy tales (is Oz even a fairytale?) Also, Puck. I'm hardly a Shakespeare purist or anything, but the Puck we see here really doesn't feel like Puck from MND. Feels more like Peter Pan if anything.

If I had a nickel for every story that had fairy tale creatures make their home in New York, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's strange that it happened twice.
