i just got a new kindle and i marked the old books as read and somehow it connected to my goodreads and now i'm 92 books ahead on my reading challenge.

this is the world's worst website.

Danya I swear it’s so stupid and buggy and behind the curve. I only still use this because most friends use it and I like interacting with my friends and what they’re reading

message 2: by lindsey (new)

lindsey I hate it. I switched to Fable but nobody else is on there (yet) so here I am, still moving at a snail’s pace just to keep up with my bookworm friends

message 3: by lily (new)

lily oh yeah that’s happened to me before - not on that scale - and it has ruined an entire evening.

message 4: by alex (new)

alex Yes! You also have to keep an eye on it because I noticed when I Sync my books (I get books from Bookshare and download them) or just at random times I'll get an extra book read on my reading challenge that just says Kindle

message 5: by Casey (new)

Casey Agreed

message 6: by Marla (new)

Marla Nichols did you get a new kindle because bezos bricked yours?! because he bricked my pre 2012 kindle (one of my most beloved possessions) and he’ll rue the day he decided to do that! decided to switch to kobo. we can also thank him for how good this website is. ❤️💀😇😓🪦

message 7: by Kate (new)

Kate Ugh, I love good reads so much but god some of the things on this site are awful and they need to fix so much. Makes me so sad.

message 8: by Gabriela (new)

Gabriela Metodieva The inability to search books by multiple criteria in this site blows my mind. It’s 2026, people, “relevant” lists with 1205678 books don’t work for me.

message 9: by Christi (new)

Christi Peach I think the website on a laptop or desktop is easier to use than the mobile app BUT it’s still mediocre. Searching for a new friend…next to impossible. So frustrating!

message 10: by Reisse Myy (new)

Reisse Myy Fredericks I’m on StoryGraph in addition to Goodreads. I love it! I prefer it to Fable.

message 11: by angus (new)

angus i swear it seems like it’s stuck in the past. but so many people use it for so long that it’s not even a concern for bezos (if he even remembers its existence). i wished people i follow would migrate to storygraph, it’s so much better!! the statistic part: *chief kiss*
if anyone is interested to go there but don’t want to loose your library, you can export it from goodreads and than import it on storygraph!

message 12: by elide (new)

elide so many times i’ve gotten confused bc where did new 9293 books pop out on my challenge? and then it’s literally seven blank kindle reads. like girl

message 13: by rash (new)

rash goodreads is a time capsule unfortunately

same, same, same

message 26: by gadea (new)

gadea The fact that the same book is listed differently for each cover?? I think I had crime and punishment in three different versions on my tbr

message 27: by Bailey (new)

Bailey We need to crowd source cash to help Goodreads update into the 20th century

message 28: by Nore (new)

Nore Ugh, yes. I hate having to remove every book I read from my challenge so I can go back and add it again with an actual review. I even have the "mark as reading on Goodreads" turned off!
