So it has pretty much gone how I expected so far. The story is still engaging though, and Kazi and Jase are still captivating characters, Kazi more so. I think it’s pretty clear that Kazi is the main main character, and Jase is the secondary main character. Sometimes while reading Jase’s perspective, I find myself bored and just continuing until it gets back to Kazi.

I read so much that it isn’t really possible to summarize it all here. Generally though, Pearson plays this will-they-won’t-they storyline straight. There haven’t been large twists, and it’s just a well-written fantasy-romance. I’m glad Pearson didn’t focus as much on the romance as she does on the fantasy. Some of the things Kazi and Jase do to hide things from each other feel weird, but nothing major.

So they finally made it out, and with a burgeoning love to boot. Now cue the “main characters fall out before making up and recognizing their love for one another” portion of the story.

Pretty much what I expected so far. Nothing amazingly innovative, but Pearson tells the story well. Both characters are likable and they have good chemistry, even if their conversations seem to follow a similar pattern.
