This book is excellent but the boring romance between Brashen and Althea is dragging everything down. Separately they are both very interesting but every time the novel shifts to their relationship the plot falls to the wayside. I like a good romance but this one is ruining my swashbuckling dragon fantasy novel.
It’s tough to like them when every interaction chips away at my respect for their characters.
