I think Márquez narrates matter of factly, without judgment. So Florentino’s character is framed without judgement but he gives you all the framework to make your own opinion of him/his morality. He used ordinary themes and made such an epic story out of it (at times I found it long)
Also I feel Fermina is well written female character!
Everyone should read this at least once, it’s Latin classic

Why can’t I just enjoy a book without a man sleeping with a GIRL (14!!)
But I GUESS the author is trying to highlight his immorality even if he calls himself a romantic , waiting for his childhood love for 50 years. BUT in the meantime he’ll sleep with 600+ women including a GIRL.
I hope Fermina doesn’t end up with him lmao
