im like so glad this book exists lolol it’s so illuminating 😃 always been fascinated by torture and execution as a kid yea thats mee but it also felt very fantastical at the same time, those torture chambers and execution gallows and what not. i wanna learn more about impalement as official punishment hshshhs but it was already abolish in my man frantz’ time in that region apparently (tsk) lmao
