Anyone else grow up with parents that say mental health issues are fake and used for attention so you think the same until your doctor diagnoses you with depression and anxiety but your parents won't allow you to take medication :)

Nah because that’s genuinely awful. Being raised to think mental health is fake and then getting diagnosed only to not be taken seriously? That’s a lot. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that and hope you get the support you deserve!

Girl yes. My mom genuinely tried to tell my doctor I had a B-12 deficiency and that’s why i was sad not bc i was depressed, this was literally 2 weeks after i tried to kms btw. I understand you babes.
I’m on meds but only because my doctor made me get bl**d drawn so he could prove it wasn’t a vitamin deficiency
