19h 46m! I listened in 1.15x speed. I really enjoyed the narrator (I believe that’s what Dominic Keating’s official title would be?) I felt that he really brought the story & characters to life. Hera was great, I especially enjoyed the end of the Iliad since it’s what I’m most familiar with

No way the guy with “nipple” in his name (Menniplus?) died with a spear that pierced next to his nipple? 😭 This is some of the og superhero action media. My favorite parts are ofc the parts with the gods’ involvement (which is often). I’m a Hera apologist. Patroclus is about to die, poor guy.

—contextualizes Hera, is intriguing. It’s similar to how Athena is often referred to as gray eyed, but a little more odd to understand. Are they just calling her pale? 😭 I’m enjoying hearing Achilles’s sassy, melodramatic behavior & Agamemnon’s temper tantrums. As mentioned in the intro, this text is certainly anti-war. Of course, it seems to give more sympathy to the men who “have to fight” than—
