I’m still enjoying reading this book by him. The narration is so good that I find myself reading simply to enjoy the words. The events gradually unfold as he reminisces about what happened while walking through the city.

I like Hisham Matar’s way of writing, though I find it difficult to describe exactly why. His metaphors are beautiful without being complicated; they are vivid yet simple. His writing is deeply sensory, making emotions and memories feel tangible.
