So far the only conflict is the female lead realizing how alone she is in Venice without her fiancé. What did you expect when you moved to a completely different country for some guy you barely know?
It also took 67 pages for her name to be mentioned compared to 19 for the male lead.

This book is pissing me off and I'm too stubborn to dnf it.
Three chapters in and the female lead's name has never been mentioned, there seems to be no conflict, both the male and female leads feel like cardboard cutouts despite this novel being semi-autobiographical, and the prose, while well written, reads like an extended travel/personal blog entry rather than a novel.

That took me way too long to get thru the first chapter. The shit the male lead did is not endearing, it's unnerving.

I'm doing so much Googling which is actually kinda fun.
I'm really concerned about the FMC tho. What do you mean he called you every half hour from 7pm until midnight????
