These late 30s and early 40s crime books are full of racist, language and smoking and drinking! What fun with nothing politically correct for our 21st-century ears! And these audible books do catch all the temper of the times in a most enjoyable way. Pulp paperbacks gone, Audible!

The woman in this book, evidently the lovely in the title, is a wonderful character and her interactions with the private eye Marlow are also a enjoyable aspect of the book!
