Our intrepid heroes have met the witch. One large and one small chapter to go and we can move on to the next book.

Where probably nothing will happen.

The closer I get to the end I realize there are no answers coming. Well, I actually take that back, there is one answer: What does the witch say? I wonder if it's going to be left unsaid like everything else in the book. There's a good back story here but everyone is OP so all of the battles end in stalemates. Kill someone, damn it! Well, someone who counts.

Man. Having read the third book (I didn't know at the time!) and starting this one and realizing that the problems set up here are still not resolved by the end of the third...do I really want to continue reading this and move on to the second?

My son likes it though and while he agrees with me about the way the book is progressing, he does want to finish it so here we go. Good opportunity for discussion.
