I knew before starting the series that Guts and Casca will get together and it is quite interesting since I can’t see it now. It seems like Guts will find a home in the Band of the Hawk. I wonder how and when it all went wrong. I’m really enjoying the story so much! Kentaro Miura is a genius!

Griffith is also a great tactician. Interesting. I feel so bad for Guts. When Corkus and the rest were coming to kill him at night and Casca stopped them, he put a decoy and slept sitting down with his sword my heart just sank. Poor thing has been through so much. Also when Casca said who else would’ve bothered with you or something like this when Guts thanked her (again) I felt so bad! Poor Guts!

Casca said one thing to Corkus when he was trying to interrupt the duel between Griffith and Guts that sounded like something you might hear in a cult. “Here, Griffith’s orders are absolute, remember?” I’m interested to see more about this.

Casca is also very interesting! I want to know her whole story. I wonder if she and Griffith are a thing, though I don’t they are. I wonder why the Band of the Hawk are so loyal to Griffith. It can’t be because he just charismatic, right? Casca obeys him without question (or maybe with some questions) even when he asks of her things that she’s not comfortable doing. It’s very interesting.

I’ve only just realized this but we haven’t seen any demons or evil spirits (anything fantastical really) in the flashbacks yet. Before Griffith became a demon to be precise. I do think he has something to do with the state of the world in the present time. But it is interesting that it’s just war between people. Guts’s nightmare was horrible, poor thing. I thought Casca was also a dream but that did happen.

Griffith is such an interesting character. He is very perceptive and introspective it seems. And really good with a sword. The way he fights is really interesting! And the way the Band of the Hawk idolize him is fascinating too. I guess his calm disposition and the way he carries himself helps too. But that “warming a man is a woman’s duty.” was some bullshit.

I did not expect Casca to be with Griffith’s company, nor did I expect to her to be a fighter, let alone a really good one, this is very interesting. I’m guessing Griffith and his company are mercenaries, they were fighting for the other side but left after the castle had fallen to the enemy. Griffith is very interesting, I want to know more about him.

Guts killing Bazuso, the Gray Knight single-handedly at the age of fifteen was so cool! I love the fact that as he grew his sword grew bigger. He can’t wield a normal sized sword and I love him for that.

I feel so bad for Guts! Poor thing. I’m glad that he’d escaped. The scene with the wolves at night was so beautiful! It reminded me of the scene where Mikasa (from Attack on Titan) resigned herself to death after she thought Eren was dead and her body was acting on its own. Berserk really did inspire a lot of other works.

I’m so glad that Guts killed that piece of shit Donovan. I only wish it was more brutal. And I’m also glad that he killed Gambino too. What a despicable man. I feel so bad for Guts. Poor thing.
