i'm absolutely appalled. this book is traumatizing as hell. i hope that bates will come to some kind of resolution on what we could do because otherwise this is just shock content. every woman already knows about these issues, just not to the extent that is written here. in that case i do find myself pointedly questioning this book's purpose.

She makes some good points so far but I also feel like she exaggerates the context of tech and AI thus far. Points about women and girls feeling unsafe online yes but I feel like if you pull it too much into the techfocus (which I know this book is about), you forego the more systemic issue of women and girls feeling unsafe anywhere.
