Little by little, I'm discovering new pockets of merit in this book alongside all the upsettingly scattershot and unwelcoming rhetorical moves.

I've managed to find a Nelson book that I'm not enjoying reading. It takes more work to grasp than Bluets or On Freedom, without the constant revelatory reward of those books, and with occasional eye-roller lines that take me out of whatever web she's trying to weave here.
