I get around three weeks to read this book, and I’m super excited to do so! Henry Wallace is a really compelling figure in movement history/progressive politics, and I look forward to learning more! I just hope it doesn’t blend too much with J William Fulbright in my mind lol

I’m enjoying the pacing more of this book! Chapter five was microscopic in scale, with a really captivating play-by-play coverage/analysis of the 1944 DNC, whereas chapter six expands into a critical meditation on the Democratic Party’s emergence as the “not-as-bad-as-the-Republicans” camp. Political democracy and economic democracy might be the antidote to American fascism, per Nichols thus far?

First four chapters were great but also super dense -- this is taking a lot more time than I initially budgeted. Super illuminating and inspiring material though -- this book is a wildly informative project, largely thanks to the crazy impressive sourcing. Peter Dreir mentioned!!! Looking forward to faster progress soon...
