Marx lumping women with children when talking about labor made me I don't think some of what he said was in relation to women but kids specifically, such as "immature persons" but because of the lumping together Marx sounds as though he is basically saying women are no better than children and shouldn't be working

The chapter on Division of Labor and Manufactur(ing)e was a really good one, and it has a lot of great parallels to today. It also brought up a point I was thinking about which is how companies complain about lost profits and lay people off but created the need to hire them through division of labor. However, I find it interesting that Marx entrenches a division between genders at the end of the chapter as "normal"

So far I think my favorite chapters are Working Day and Co-operation. Overall though, even only being this far in the book, it has given me a lot to think about. There's many parallels here to today and you can really see and tell how and why we got to where we are and why we keep being told this is "the best way" to do things. Only thing is, it's always only been the best for the capitalist
