The kind of book that traces the subject matter historically alongside intermittent commentary on methodology. After looking at mainstream theories of international law and jurisprudence in Ch 1, and then orthodox Marxist and critical perspectives in Ch 2, Ch 3 dives into Evgeny Pashukanis' analysis of the legal form itself. For someone that appreciates value form analysis, so far a very illuminating read.
