Been listening to this on and off and it's really good, despite the typical audiobook-induced amnesia I seem to have. Safranski does a lot of demystifying of the great polymath. For example he points out that Goethe reviewed books he didn't read, was quite self absorbed, loved fame, and worked in mad fits.
