Very funny to read this when we're a decade into the statcast era and a player's slash has been so vital in how we discuss game skill/talent for years now. Cause I'm like yeah obviously you want the pitcher with the lowest ERA and WHIP or a hitter with a great OBP, and then when Billy Beane introduces the concept of looking at that stuff to a room full of old scouts they act like it's genuinely sacrilegious.
