The first part of this book is really good! I love the imagery drawing me in around life as a priestess, but then it begins to take a weird turn with the lead character losing her independent fire to her brother/lover devotion. I was so excited for a retelling, but for the most part this is the same patriarchal crap in a new guise. Very disappointing.
