Shame on me that it took so long to get Annie Ernaux 🤧 I love her style of memoir writing! With her abstaining from the “I” and more so writing for the “We” and “Us” it feels as though she is speaking for the collective experience of growing up in France rather than just hers alone. Which is so powerful 🫶🏻
