“He had a choice between popping Angie in the mouth or getting rid of the gun” OH I HOPE THIS MAN GETS EVERYTHING HE DESERVES. shoutout to the author for making me hate a man so deeply. Love that for me.

It’s taking EVERY FIBER IN ME not to hate Tariq. I’m telling you. I’m really trynna give this character grace but the more he speaks, the more I fucking see why his wife LEFT HIS BITCH ASS. I see why Angie doesn’t like him. I see why they fought. And it makes me even more mad that their son loved and idolized his dad so much. He’s actually an asshole.

Starting to get very annoyed with Tariq’s incessant propensity towards violence. now that I’m writing about it, he’s a black man who lost his son and has no real way to deal with it. The themes of grief within this story are prominent (my favorite kinda horror!) and so after some analysis, I can recognize that maybe Tariq was never given the tools to express his emotions and that’s why anger is his instinct
