I have so many memories of reading this book in my childhood. I forgot how heavy the themes tackled by Jaqueline Wilson are, and there are implications of Clover being assaulted by a group of boys very early on which I did not remember.
Reading this book at 20 is very different to reading it at 11, but it still holds up beautifully. The themes are handled well and appropriately, in true Jaqueline Wilson fashion.
