I feel like this book is missing the mark with me. I know it’s showing slavery as awful but it’s almost also making light of all the struggles. Making it seem like the whites are always absolute bumbling idiots and only other people can see that. That religion back then was just something to make a mockery of because only the educated non whites knew the truth. Going to stop for a bit and come back
