It's not that I am bored but I am not overly excited about the book or feeling like I can't put it down like some of my recent reads. So far it is fine, it's average and I am ready for more. I want to understand why people are raving about this book.

I am not invested in them as characters and as a couple yet. I am ready to met the king and brother and see how they are and to understand more of what the conflict will be.

There has not been much happening, like they have been walking through the forest for the whole book, I am just ready for something exciting to happen. I like that they have had talks about their lives like family and friends and that they are slowly building a relationship.

The world and magic system is easy to follow, it's similar to other books I have read. The characters are fine, I'm not connected with them yet, hopefully I will be soon.

There really has not been much world building, it feels like a low power brain book which is fine because I think that is what I needed after reading high power brain books recently.

I don't know how to feel about this book so far. The writing is okay, it's choppy at times but not enough to bother me. They say tides as a way of cursing a lot and that is a little annoying.
