Humans who speak different languages often use the same sounds with training animals. Short repeated sounds encourage activity (like: go! go! go! go!) and a long, low tone encourages slowing down. (like: eeaaaaaasssy)

A book about how the typical primate behaviour humans display around dogs confuses and upsets them. (Surprise: they aren't primates. They don't hug to show affection, f. ex. you weirdo monkey.)
The author is quite self-laudatory about how much success and experience she has human-dog training, but she has the knowledge and what she's saying is quite interesting and informative on animal behaviour.

I'm interested, of course, but it's a random read (like the goat read and market gardening and I'll maybe even read about raising chickens at some point. 🤣)
putting all those books together, I'm suddenly picturing a very busy balcony! pocket market garden, and maybe a pocket sized goat too!? :) possibly with a hen perched precariously ;)
