Nationalism and Self-Determination: the Bosnian Tragedy - Not actually that specific to Bosnia, tbh most of it could have been written today. Interesting discussion of how ethnic nationalism must lead to violence, and potential better ways of approaching sovereignty and civic participation, but I’m not sure it ever really reaches a practical conclusion.

War for Cities and Noncombatant Immunity - uses the siege of Sarajevo as a springboard to discuss the ethics of siege warfare based on jus in bello principles.
Interesting overall, but I found it a bit overly theoretical/philosophical, with not enough acknowledgement that the actual realities of war are rarely so clear.

Religion, History, and Genocide in B-H: largely skimmed this essay as it’s pretty much a condensed version of the author’s own book, The Bridge Betrayed, which I’ve just read. It covers the same major ideas (rise of Christoslavism, orientalism and anti-Muslim sentiment that lead to the genocide in BH) but I would still recommend reading the full work for a broader and more thoroughly-referenced version.
