This is really fun to read—a different time period my children can’t even envision, it’s fun picturing how my parents grew up and the friendships they might have had. An easier world, but one still plagued by loss.

Sort of a hard book to explain to the kids, but they are enjoying the story. Great discussion on friendship and family relationships.
