If I had a nickel for every book I’ve read about a queer/-coded protagonist who wakes up from a multi-year-long coma (and immediately has a catheter painfully removed) before slowly remembering bits and pieces of his life and how nothing is as it was before, I would have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
