I think I need a bit of a break from this book... it started so strong but for some reason I'm just not engaged. The last 100+ pages have been a bit of a slog... I love Amy Dorrit but don't really care for any other character... well not that I don't care but I'm just not feeling that connection that keeps me turning the pages.

Arthur and Amy are such great characters! I’ve had varied experiences with Dickens’ novels (still have a few more to read), and wouldn’t consider him an all-time favourite writer, but that could change if I end up loving this as much as I adored Dombey and Son!!

This one is slow at times. It picks up towards the end, but I totally get not being invested in these characters.
If you haven't read it yet, try David Copperfield.
I enjoyed David Copperfield overall but didn’t love it 🙈 My favourites are A Christmas Carol, Dombey and Son, and Oliver Twist. I still have to read Great Expectations, A Tale of Two Cities, and Our Mutual Friend.
