I like how it offers Julia’s perspective of events but I feel at the same time, they do not add too much value to the story of 1984 and Julia as a character. I don’t feel immersed into the story as I did reading 1984. I suppose it’s because not much of the world of 1984 needed to be described as much as this retelling, but I wish it had more oomph to it.
