The main character Ruth is flawed, making her seem real. Even if I don’t agree with her actions now, I might have done the same at 27. Who knows. I was surprised when she slept with Charlie and when she went through with the abortion. I didn’t expect her to do either. But then this wouldn’t be the “beach read of the summer,” right?

I’m liking the story and I’m eager to see how it ends. But I would like to have more dialogue and less narrative. A bit too much telling. But it is at least easy to read.

Whoa. Is it called June Baby because Ruth accidentally gets pregnant with Louis’s baby?

So far, a good character driven story, which I tend to enjoy. Ruth is 20 years younger but still relatable. I bought the audiobook on Audible too so I can read and listen if I want to.
