I do like that she has a purpose in life, she is a healer. The plot is being set up to hopefully have some conflict and storyline in the second half of the book. I am just ready to see what happens and how the story is resolved.

So they plan to kill the nobles and royal family so she can rule?

What the heck is she doing?? I'm confused, is there some type of plan to take down Arbinj from the inside?

I know both sides are bad, but I wonder how everything is going to unfold with her dad, the rebellion, Arbinj. I hope they can create a better world for everyone.

I am not overly invested in the characters but i do like how Zev treats Mayah, and i like how their relationship has slowly progressed. Her holding back from him is a little annoying because obviously she wants him too, like just go for it.

The writing isn't the best, there are some weird phrases, like they mention collarbones and clavicles too much. The description of things is a little weird too. The writing is cut off or choppy at times, but it's not the worse writing either.

The storyline and plot has not progressed much, like this is truly not a detailed world with high action plot and a unique story. I definitely have been disappointed in this book because people on tik tok were raving about it and i just don't see what they see.

Second Rating: 3.5 stars
I have continued reading this book, but I am not overly invested in the story. I heard that everything starts at the 50% mark and i hope that's true because the first 50% has been underwhelming.
