One of my all-time favorite Heinlein books. Written in 1963. I probably read it a couple of years later when I was 26.
It appears to be a tribute to the John Carter of Mars books with a touch of Don Quixote. There’s lots of swashbuckling action and derring do.
Heinlein always liked to have a beautiful and competent female character for his protagonist to win over, usually a redhead. In this case she’s blonde.
