I’ll caveat that I am writing after finishing 1/3 of the book. This book is split into two parts. Part 1 deep dives into what Deep Work is, its philosophy and how our work today isn’t set up to encourage deep work if you are someone who does knowledge work for a living. Deep work is hard to quantify in comparison to shallow work like responding to email and IM’s. Part 1 reads like a journal article.
