The artists and writers did a good job of moving the story and characters forward with non-verbal cues. It really feels like we know what is going on in Krypto’s head even though he can’t speak.

I love how they use typical dog activities, that we typically see as mindless, as real ways to develop the story and Krypto’s character. Subtle things like his whimpers, pacing around his bed, or tearing up his owner’s clothes serve to tell us what is going on with the characters.

At the start of the story Krypto embodies an ignorant bliss. He’s playing around with the other dog with a childlike smile and joy while their owners debate and argue over the political controversy of Krypton’s core strength.
