This is funny, but it’s the same few types of funny throughout (exaggeration and literalism), and I’m a bit bummed because for years I’ve heard it hyped as one of the funniest books ever written. It’s definitely very clever in parts, but that’s all that it is (so far), and I was hoping for something more layered.
