‘his head was the size of a wagon wheel’. momentarily forgot that a wagon wheel is an actual thing and not just a weird british biscuit

if that random side quest doesn’t come up again then that was a really odd writing choice

I still really think that this book should have a map, but otherwise it's a nice low-stakes palate cleanser type book so far. seems very friendship oriented!

I have no idea If they taste nice haha (they have gelatine in them so unless I had them when I was little I've never tried them lol) but I've def seen them in other parts of Europe like Austria and Poland in like a 'Northern Europe' shelf so they may have them in Italy!! though my recommendation would be for Tunnocks tea cakes instead!!! (theyre a Scottish water/biscuit thing with marshmallow but the marshmallow is more like meringue:))

✨ tweety ✨ if they have gelatine then I won't like them haha (I hate gelatine too) but the other ones I'll see if I can find them bc I love meringue. they remind me of our bulgarino which is a wafer with vanilla mousse on it that's covered with chocolate and looks like a light bulb lol. some shops that sell international products may have them tho I'm not sure

lucas when i first went veggie i forgot marshmallows contained gelatine and had a moment of heartbreak eating smores at a barbecue and being fed wagon wheels at a barbecue. terrible times

canon event I fear. we always get fucked over by a niche item of food. its like when I was vegan and being given the wrong milk by accident in a cafe and then feeling guilty for the next 2-6months.

also thank u for your wagon wheel review!! glad that I don't seem to be missing out lmao (im not big on biscuits anyway, much prefer a salty snack)

AHHHHHH I LOVE BULGARINO!!!!! there was a market stall near where I lived for the last four years that sold them once a fortnight and they made them veggie yippeee (idk if traditionally they have gelatine in or not lol) yes yes theyre sort of similar, but tunnocks are kind of like a denser version!!

as far as I know, the majority of Italian food companies have been trying to make their products safer and with no artificial colors and gelatine and oils like palm oil /esp biscuits and such/ so I think it should be made with the simplest ingredients you'd use if you made them at home!! also fun fact about bulgarino. In the city I live it is also known as CHICCHIRICHI which in Italian is the equivalent of the sound the hen makes lol no idea why tho
