Had to pause this for a long time because it just made me sad and angry to read about how people use propaganda and war to manipulate others and that we didn't change a bit since the fucking Trojan war.
It's an interesting but really, REALLY slow read. Very theoretical, and the author doesn't really bother to remind the reader of what certain wars were even about. But it's cool to see strategy evolve as a profession!

Since I'm currently writing a book series where - sooner or later - a war will take place, I want to read this book as research.
However, I didn't expect to go back in history THAT FAR that the author analyzes which strategies the Christian GOD pulled during the events of the Bible. I mean - I get it, especially with the exodus of the Israelites, but - I thought we talk about ... you know, REAL GENERALS and stuff :D
