He wrapped an arm around Tiernan, nuzzled into the curve where neck met shoulder, breathed in the scent of wild hair and sated male body and honey, and closed his eyes. So this is what magic smells like.

Which made him think of drizzling honey all over the body waiting for him in that hot tub. Or, better yet, of being covered in it himself, and letting Tiernan lick him clean. Was I always this horny, and didn’t realize it?

Kevin’s head came up at this, the light in his deep brown eyes dancing with sudden amusement. “This is going to sound incredibly politically incorrect.” His downward glance took in his own ruined trousers, as well as Tiernan’s stained jeans.
“Are you telling me… you’re a fairy?”

“It’s what we are, you and I. SoulShares. Scair-anaim.”
“Half-souled? Interesting concept.” Kevin frowned, pensive, then put up an eyebrow, as if in response to a thought. “Is it going to be that mind-blowing every time we have sex from now on?”

“Lanan…”
“You might start by telling me what that means.”
“Tiernan smiled, slowly, and caught Kevin’s hand.
“It means ‘lover’, where I come from.”

“You can say you’re from Alpha Centauri, or Middle-Earth… or L.A., for all I care.” Kevin chuckled softly. “Maybe I’m the one who’s crazy, because I’m so damn happy you’re here.”

“Three things you need to know.”
“First, I can’t love you.”
“Second, I need to be with you.”
“What’s the third?”
“I’m not human.”

All he knew was that Kevin had half of his soul, and all the pleasure had gone out of the thought of any other touch.

“You were looking at that earlier.” Tiernan smiled slowly. “It appeals to you?” Kevin was hardly his first virgin, and the surest way to drive a virgin wild was to make him admit, aloud, to every new feeling, urge and sensation. Or at least as many as possible while he was still capable of speech.
“Yeah, it does. I don’t know why, but it’s sexy as hell.”
